CASA Internationale Sprachschule

Non-profit status & mission

What being a non-profit means at CASA

As a non-profit language school, we are committed to education, understanding and inclusion. Our income goes back into this work.

Non-profit status & transparency

Your course fees go back into our educational work.

We are funded largely through course fees. This income pays for the day-to-day running of the school and secures services that are especially important to international learners and vulnerable groups.

Profits are not distributed. Our income is reinvested in running the school and fulfilling CASA’s non-profit purpose.

  • Qualified teachers and educational guidance
  • Small groups where there is plenty of speaking, and courses that run reliably
  • Facilities, advice and safe places to learn in Bremen
  • Social education projects, language tandems and, where possible, reduced fees

What non-profit means in practice

Building bridges since 1983

At CASA, people from more than 150 countries and of different cultural, religious and social backgrounds learn together. We promote understanding, respect and tolerance, following our guiding principle: talk with each other, reach out to each other.

  • Free course places for people in hardship

Time and again, people in particularly difficult circumstances learn German with us free of charge. This closes a gap and lays the foundation for their way into society and work.

  • A place to meet

Our cafeteria is open to all learners throughout the day: for homework, for practising before exams or for getting to know each other. At the language café and the CASA Stammtisch you simply speak German.

  • Advice beyond the classroom

In one-to-one talks we find the right learning strategy with you. We also advise you on finding a flat, on work and on studying, and after your course you can keep learning with us before exams.

  • Language tandem with people from Bremen

As a member of TANDEM International we bring learners and people from Bremen together, free of charge. You keep learning on your own terms and get to know the city.

What we are planning next

  • A preparation course for the telc Deutsch B1 exam at almost no cost, for people who can no longer receive any funding.
  • A scholarship programme for learners, now being developed.

The CASA-Förderverein e.V.

Our supporters’ association backs our non-profit work in projects such as the free course places and the programmes we are planning. If you would like to support it, get in touch.

Our public-benefit mission

A non-profit for education and inclusion

As a non-profit language school, we combine German teaching with advice and opportunities to meet people. Language skills open the way into everyday life, vocational training, university and work.

We support international learners and people who are making a new start in Bremen. Our education partnerships help them on the way to university. Free language tandems, outings and get-togethers create connections in everyday life.
